THIER + CURRAN ARCHITECTS INC.

Design Hope 2008

- Hamilton, Ontario

This is a portable all-season outdoor hearth built and moulded from a mixture of new, found and recycled materials. The hearth embodies a sculptural reminiscence of the warmth it will bring, as well as a versatility of use as a water feature.

Final photos and working images show how we progressed from the idea to the final product - all done with a little help from our friends.

We thank Dave Hind (www.davehind.com) for supplying and bending our legs and Steve Nicholson (www.smoothcrete.com) for mixing and pouring the body. Thanks also to Samantha Coppendale (www.octopusproducts.com) for providing us with some much needed corrugation.

Please also look at the Design Hope website.
