Awards Hamilton Urban Design and Architecture Award of Excellence for Adaptive Re-Use 2007
Renovation and addition to transform a banal suburban drive-in insurance claims centre into a new prototype teaching clinic, with a high-quality staff working and teaching environment and a supportive, non-institutional patient care setting. Parking lot areas reclaimed as a large quality staff garden with pond and waterfall, and an entrance wetland outside the patient waiting room and main entrance to connect people with the calming and restorative benefits of nature. The Centre opened to patients only 8 months after TCA were engaged.
